Diane Hutsell

Director of Philanthropy

Originally from New York, Diane Hutsell has lived in Tennessee for most of her life and considers herself a southern girl even though she still doesn’t drink iced tea. After graduating from Tennessee Wesleyan University with a B.A. in History, she attended Middle Tennessee State University to work on her master’s degree in Historic Preservation.

Diane spent the first half of her professional career working in the nonprofit world as development director for a regional cultural tourism organization and then as a museum director. She quickly discovered her love of social work after working as a program director for an assisted living community and then as the executive director for a senior activity center.

Outside of work Diane enjoys spending time in her art studio painting, reading biographies, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs. She also loves the outdoors and spending time with her teenage son camping and hiking where she has served as his Boy Scout Troop leader over the last decade. She has been married to her husband for almost 25 years, but they have known each other since they met in kindergarten. Together they enjoy collecting comic books and watching scary movies while piled on the sofa with their son and beagle.
